Fall of 2008 Class Schedule
Introduction to Computers Part I - Never touched a computer before?? Haven’t touched a computer in years? Don’t know a mouse from a modem? Learn how to identify the main parts of computer system plus how to use the mouse and keyboard. This is a 4 session (8 hours total) class.
Introduction to Computers Part II - Basic computer concepts. You will do word processing, introduction to Windows operating system, file management and the Internet. (Introduction to Computers Part I or mouse and keyboard familiarity required.) This is a 4 session (8 hours total) class.
The following advanced classes are available to graduates of Introduction to Computers Part II or to those with mouse skills and familiarity with PC operations. Access to a computer at home is desirable.
Email Workshop – In this advanced class you will learn about email. Set up your email program, send and receive email, forward emails and how to send and receive attachments. This is a 2 session 4 hour class.
Exploring Windows Vista Part I – In this advanced class you will learn how to use Vista to manage your files, and personalize your settings for your taskbar and toolbars. This is a four week class (8 hours total).
Fun with the Internet –Learn more advanced uses of the Internet. Work with browser navigation, search techniques, privacy and security. You will learn how to use the Internet to make free, or almost free, phone calls to anyone almost anywhere in the world. This is a 4 session (8 hours total) class.
Photo Book Workshop – Learn all about making photo books with software that can be downloaded to your computer. Bring a flash drive with your photos and you will save your work on the flash drive. Books are printed commercially and bound. Requires knowledge of photo management such as Photoshop Elements classes and a flash drive. This is a 2 session class done in one day.
Photoshop Elements Organizer – This advanced class is an introduction to Adobe Photoshop Elements software. Learn to use the this part to organize all those digital photos. Move all your photos here from many different sources and tag them into categories. Create slide shows, albums, email and greeting cards. The Organizer part of Photoshop Elements is available for Windows users only, no Macs. This is a 4 session (8 hours total class.
Photoshop Elements , Part I – This advanced class uses the Adobe Photoshop Elements software to learn photo retouching and image manipulation. Adjust the color, brightness, contrast, move objects within a photo, and so much more. This is a 4 session (8 hours total) class.
Photoshop Elements, Part II –This class is for all those students that wanted to learn even more about the wonderful things that you can do with photos using the Adobe Photoshop Elements software. Photoshop Elements Part I required before this class. This is a 4 session (8 hours total) class.
Photoshop Elements, Part III-In this advanced Adobe Photoshop Elements class you will learn how to use photos to create posters, templates, mini albums, note cards, and watercolor paintings. As you design your projects you will be learning new techniques using filters, styles, and effects. Photoshop Elements, Part I and Part II are required before this class. This is a 4 session (8 hours total) class.
Word Processing, Part I- Uses Microsoft Word 2007 for text entry, editing, paragraph and character formatting and using tabs and tables. This is a 4 session (8 hours total) class.

The Senior Center will be closed for Thanksgiving Nov 26-28. The Photoshop Elements Part II class will skip Tues. Nov. 25 and the Photoshop Elements Part II will skip Wed. Nov. 26. The Internet class will skip Nov 27 for Thanksgiving.
Four session classes are $40. Two session classes are $25.
Registration begins Resident - 8/13 and Non-Resident - 8/20
